Gaming and Esports are fast-growing activities today, engaging more than 2,5 billion people around the world. In 2023, this number is projected to exceed 3 billion people.
Gaming has brought people together in unprecedented ways. It has removed social barriers and opened up new avenues of contact between people all across the globe. Compared to traditional sports, it has enormous inclusive potential: your background, gender or physical condition does not affect your ability to participate. But it has a dark side. Bullying, cheating, racism, and gender-based discrimination flourish online, and these problems are growing rapidly as more people enter the virtual sphere.
To combat this, the Non-Violence Project Foundation and Knot Education SA will have a team of experts working on finding better solutions to these issues under the brand name Knot OK.
We have launched a series of courses for teachers and students who engage in gaming, inside and outside the classroom. You can sign up for our free learning academy here.
